This Saturday was different
Saturday, 3rd June, was not like other Saturdays. Normally we have a mix of pilots flying their power craft, gliders and members who are receiving instruction to glide on the club’s gliders.
However, this Saturday happened to be right in the middle of the Midlands Air Festival and Regley Hall, just down the road.
So not only did we have a “no flight” period to let the Red Arrows do their stuff, but some of the visiting aircraft for the show were using our airfield for a stop and a break.
The net result, was that the members who came that day had a mini air show of their own. Here are some moments from the day.

Red Arrows using our airspace to regroup for the Midlands Air Festival, giving us our own private show
Followed by a synchronised landing of powered gliders
Lovely vintage Biplane landing to park up. As you can see by now not a lot of gliders were taking off due to all the traffic
Then we had some Gazelles showing off their skills
Finishing with a masterly coordinated take off by Team Raven
